breasts were fully adequate, and bone-in
breasts had increased availability. Wings
were at least adequate and dark meat
items were usually available, however,
drumsticks and thighs were no more
than adequate and often moving well.
Movement into retail and distributive
channels was about fair to moderate at
best. The market tone was fully steady
on drumsticks and thighs, no better than
steady on the balance.

In California, prices were unchanged.
In Boston and Chicago, prices were
higher on all sizes. Elsewhere, prices
were higher on all eggs except mediums,
which were unchanged. The market tone
was fully steady to firm. Demand was
light to mostly moderate and was best
where featured. Supplies were adequate
to closely balanced. Breaking stock
offerings were tight to about adequate
for the light to moderately good demand.
Light type hens were usually sufficient
for current processing needs.
