antique dress form from the early 1900 s. It is a

size T-shirt with the graphics and cartoons de
picting River Rats, a good-natured group of
people who enjoy water sports in the Harris
burg area. He writes that the shirts are colorful
and fun to look at. Thanks to John Miller, Dills
burg, for writing that River Rat T-shirts are sold
at Goldsboro Marina, Goldsboro, Pa., from May
through August every year. Each year has a dif
ferent picture and the year printed on it. The
shirts have been sold for about 20 years. Some

ANSWER Those Foxfire books that are
filled with information in answer to many re
quests are a series of books published by
Anchor Books/Doubleday. Wayne Bishop, Doy
lestown, recommends Book 4 for the person
who wanted information on hand dug wells. On
page 367 of Book 4, are recorded experiences,
skill, and hazards of hand digging wells. It is a
very dangerous job due to cave-ins, lack of
oxygen, gas and material falling from above,
etc.
Christmas Guild
YORK (York Co.) The York Towne Chapter
of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen will con
duct its fifth annual Christmas at the Guild
show and exhibit, Nov. 3 (2 p.m.-8 p.m.), and
Sat. Nov. 4 (10 a.m.-5-p.m.), and Sun. Nov. 5
(noon - 5 p.m.).
The show showcases the best works of juried
members of the Guild and includes gift shop
items, and demonstrations by artisians.
The show will be located at the York Towne
Craftsmen’s Guild, 639 N. Franklin St., Windsor
Park section of Spring Garden Township, York.
