NOTICE TO 609 TOBACCO GROWERS! A FEW SUGGESTIONS to help build up a better reputation again with the tobacco companies: • Do not strip too damp. • Make 3 good grades plus keep your green and outgrade out and put m separate bale.. • Do not try to nest/hide green tobacco in middle of bale. • Do not sell your tobacco for less than you want to grow it, but if you get a buyer that offers you what you feel is a good price, sell it! Try this and your buyer will probably keep coming back year after year! Penn Leaf Tobacco Co. “Your Local Tobacco Co. North Atlantic Shell Egg Market Atlanta, GA October 26,2000 Report Supplied By USDA In California and Boston, prices were unchanged. In the Midwest, prices were higher on mediums and unchanged on the balance. In all other locations, prices ® Jacob Zimmerman & Family, Miffiinburg, pa Northeast were higher on all sizes. The market tone was fully steady to firm. Demand was light to moderate. Supplies were barely adequate to tight on smaller sizes and adequate to in close balance on the heav ier weight eggs. Breaking stock offerings were tight to adequate for the fair to good demand. Light type hens were suf ficient for current processing needs. Grain and soybean bids continued to trade up and down with nothing hap pening to set any fires in either direction. Wheat steady to 2 cents lower. Corn steady to 2 cents higher. Sorghum 1 cent lower. Soybeans mixed. A few small export wheat sales were reported overnight but failed to excite anyone. Wet weather continued in the Plains hard red winter wheat area, easing moisture shortages and pressur ing bids. Planting delays due to the mois ture, limited declines and some areas of Oklahoma will have to replant when able. Corn bids were stronger but only slightly as farmer selling remained light and indications that China sold corn to South Korea. Export sales are down this week for corn and soybeans. Corn har vest is nearly done and very good yields have been reported. Some talk that South Korea is in the market for about two million bushels of US soybeans, of fered light support. Midwest rainfall has delayed soybean harvest in places.
