Centre County Junior Dairy Shows CENTRE HALL (Centre Co.) Ben Cloninger of Centre Hall exhibited the grand champion Holstein, a senior 2-year-old, in Centre County’s Junior Holstein Show and Open Holstein Show recently at the 126th Grange Fair. Fifty-four Holsteins owned by 45 juniors competed in the Junior Show, judged by Patty McMurray of Eighty-Four, PA. April Hartle of Bellefonte exhib ited a 5-year-old to reserve grand champion Holstein plac ing. Red and White Holstein junior and senior champions and grand and reserve champi ons were owned and shown by Amanda Gates of Maple-Hill Farm, Gatesburg. Showmanship judge was David Lapp, Washington County. In the Open Holstein Show, judged by Dwight Stoltzfus, Berling, PA, 117 animals were exhibited. Grand champion went to Ben Cloninger and the junior show grand champion, Terra-Rose SB Lori. Reserve grand champion honors went to Penn Dell Farm, the Jay Houser family, Spring Mills, PA for their senior 3-year old. In the Colored Breeds Junior Dairy Show, Jason Klinger of Port Matilda exhibited a junior 2-year-old Ayrshire who was named senior and grand cham pion. In the Brown Swiss Show, three animals were exhibited spring calves by Holly Heinrichs (reserve junior champion and reserve champion) and Eliza beth Cloninger and a spring yearling, awarded junior and grand champion, by Elizabeth Cloninger.
