    Avian Influenza Insurance Approved
HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.) The Pennsylvania poul
try industry has always been dil
igent in biosecurity to protest
their flocks from devastating
poultry diseases, especially
avian influenza (A. 1.). Unfortu
nately, sometimes we must face
an outbreak that can literally
bankrupt a poultry operation.
Anyone in poultry remembers
the 1983 A.I. epidemic, but do
you also remember 1993 and the
A.I. outbreak in turkeys? Or
how about the 1996-97 outbreak
when 1.5 million birds depopu
lated?
Workingjor the things we want - Better yields.
Technology that pays. And the chance to go on calling
our own shots.
