Compared to last week: Feeder cattle
and heifer calves steady to 1.00 higher;
steer calves firm to 4.00 higher. Demand
good for all classes. Quality plain to av
erage, few attractive calves. Weigh-ups
average to full. Calves in medium to
fleshy conditions; yearlings in slightly
thin to moderate flesh, few fleshy. Rams
of 1-3 inches fell over much of the state
last weekend giving boost to calf market.
Slaughter cows and bulls steady. Packer
demand light to moderate. Total of 525
cows and bulls sold with near 50 percent
to packers. Receipts this week 8147; last
week 11,108; last year 12,542.
Supply consisted of 49% yearlings and
calves over 600 lbs; 45% calves under
600 lbs; 6% cows and bulls. Heifers
comprised 44% of feeder and calf
supply.

weight and price in parenthesis.
