Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds was moderate. Seller Offerings
were adequate to closely cleared on the 3
pound and smaller sizes; adequate to
fully adequate on the larger sizes. Live
supplies were moderate; weights ranged
light to heavy, mostly desirable to heavy.
Processing schedules were mostly mod
erate. Less than trucklot asking prices
were unchanged at 47 to 61 cents. Trade
sentiment was generally steady. Bone-in
breast were in close balance to tight and
clearing well. Wings were in good
demand and clearing satisfactorily.
Boneless skinless breast were readily
available.

small eggs and unchanged on the bal
ance. In Boston, large brown eggs were
unchanged to higher. The market tone
was steady to fully steady. Demand
ranged fair to fairly good and best where
scattered features provided additional
movement.
Supplies were generally adequate to
instances closely balanced. In the Mid
west, breaking stock offerings were ade
quate to short and demand was light to
moderate. In the Eastern region, break
ing stock supplies were fully sufficient
for the moderate demand. Light type
fowl were usually adequate for current
slaughter needs.

Mostly prices were unchanged to one
cent higher on whites, one cent higher on
yolks, and one to two cents higher on
whole when compared to a week earlier.
The market tone was fully steady on
yolks, steady on whole, and unsettled to
about steady on whites. Demand was
light to good with best interest on yolks.
Supplies were usually adequate for cur
rent needs. Liquid and frozen eggs
(ingredients included) processed under
federal inspection in the Eastern region
for the week ending September 30, 2000
were 1% less than last week, and 5% less
than the same week last year.
