Barrow On-Foot Champions
Announced At 2000 KILE Show
HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.) The Barrow on Foot
Show was conducted Sunday,
Oct. 8, in conjunction with the
44th annual Keystone Interna
tional Livestock Expo (KILE)
here at the Pennsylvania Farm
Show Complex.
Arlie Combower of New Free
dom, won the Berkshire cham
pion and reserve.
In the crossbred barrows
show, Holloway Genetics of
Glen Rock, received champion
honors with DCHHO 82-1. Re
serve champion went to 12-12
owned by Robert Strauss of
Ephrata.
For the Duroc competition,
champion Duroc was owned by
Franklin Feeser of Taneytown,
Md. Reserve was 10-4 from the
medium weight class owned by
James Parlett and son of Air
ville.
Penn State received champion
Yorkshire with 24-3 from the
lightweight division. Reserve
was won by the second-place
barrow in the lightweight class
owned by Keith Bard of Portage.
In the Landrace show, the
winner went to Whewell’s
Duroc’s from Carthage, 111. Re
serve was owned by Grant La
zarus 111. of Fermansville.
KC Farm from Wackersville, Md.
won both champion and reserve cham
pion honors in the Poland China show.
Champion barrow in the Spotted
swine breed went to Lazaurs Brothers of
Germansville. Reserve was 19-1 owned
by Jamie Kegg of Alum Bank.
For the Chester White show, Weber
Brothers Farm, Shrewsbury, received
champion, with GWJR Mr. Die Hard.
Reserve was the lightweight class
winner, owned by Bennecoff s hogs in
Kutztown.
Hampshire champion was LLMO Mr.
Payday 14-3, Leland and Larry of Un
ionville, Ohio. Todd Brown of Cul
pepper, Va., received the reserve
champion Hampshire with his heavy
weight class winner.
