Galloping To National Competition

YORK (York Co.) Two horse-related
teams from York County stampeded their
way through statewide competition in late
August, earning team members the oppor
tunity to compete at upcoming national
equine youth events.
Hippology team members placed first at
State 4-H Achievement Days and are fi
nalizing plans to compete nationally at the
Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus,
Ohio during October. Team members are
Jenna Moore, York; April Nabholtz, Fel
ton; Jarek Shank, Mechanicsburg; and
Laura Wirth, Camp Hill.
Jenna Moore rides hunt seat and is a
student at York’s Central High School.
April Nabholtz is a home-schooled stu
dent, and also rides hunt seat. Jarek
Shenk attends Cumberland Valley High
School, and competes in saddle seat and
pleasure pony driving. Laura Wirth, also a
Cumberland Valley High School student.

ciation of Extension 4-H Agents.

State University.

members of a team need to be well-versed
in a broad variety of horsemanship as

tests, Horse Bowl is based on knowledge
of and speed in responding to equine and
horsemanship-related questions.

hours of support as seminar coordinators,
tour guides, 4-H talent, and conference
helpers. In addition, many local 4-H clubs,

program planning committees contributed
