AUCTION EVERY MON., 7:30 P.M, Daily National Grain Market Summary St. Joseph, MO October 4,2000 Report Supplied By USDA Wheat and corn bids finished higher again with planting and harvest delays offering support. Soybean bids were slightly lower in a correctional move. Wheat steady to 11 cents higher. Corn steady to 6 cents higher. Sorghum 1 cent higher. Soybeans 1 to 3 cents lower. Dryness in the southern Plains contin- ued to slow hard red winter wheat plant ing However, some rain is being forecast for overnight. Another export donation for wheat was announced, and reports that Egypt is looking for 30,000 metric tons of US wheat, added support. Expectations for another cut in har vest acres and optimism about export sales improving kept corn bids on the upward climb Some rain in the Corn Belt area this week slowed harvest in some places. Soybean bids fell slightly lower, de spite the overnight export sale to Taiwan. This, however, doesn’t put this weeks total very high. Harvest progress continued to pressure bids.
