National
Dairy Board

Glickman has appointed 11 new
members and reappointed two
incumbents to the National
Dairy Promotion and Research
Board. All will serve three-year
terms from Nov. 1, 2000, through
Oct. 31,2003.
Newly appointed were Dennis
A. Leonardi, Femdale, Calif, (re
gion 2); Charles W. Bryant, Aus
tin, Ark. (region 4); Arlon E.
Fritsche, New Ulm, Minn., and
Loren E. Jons, Bonesteel, S. D.
(region 5); Allard L. Peck, Chip
pewa, Falls, Wis., and Connie M.
Seefeldt, Coleman, Wis. (region
6); Wayne E. Dykshorn, Ireton,
lowa (region 7); Sanford L.
Jones, Jr., Quitman, Ga. (region
10); Lewis Gardner, Galeton, Pa.
(region 11); and Edgar A. King,
Schuylerville, N.Y. (region 12).
Reappointed to serve second
terms were Pedro R. Lizaso, Em
mett, Idaho (region 3); and Merle
L. Chaplin, Moundsville, W.V.
(region 9).
The National Dairy Promotion
and Research Board, composed
of 36 dairy farmers representing
13 regions of the contiguous U.S.,
administers a coordinated pro
gram of promotion, research and
nutrition education.

Ephrata Fair Releases Sale Results
Ephrata Fair market hog champion was shown by Jeff
Nolt, left. Ephrata National Bank, represented by Bob
Zook, purchased the champion for $650.
EPHRATA (Lancaster Co.)
At last week’s Ephrata Fair,
grand champion hog, weighing
250 pounds, was exhibited by
Jeff Nolt.
Reserve champion, at 262
pounds, was shown by Sarah
Boyd.
Other champions were light
weight champion, Derrick Boll
inger; reserve, Jason Martin. Me
dium weight reserve champion,
Jimmy Zimmerman. Light
heavyweight champion, Jenny
Hoover; reserve, Derrick Bolling
er. Heavyweight reserve went to
Eric Ober.
At the goat sale, Josh Hoover
won grand champion with the
lightweight goat, sold to Blue
Ball National Bank for $l3O. Re
serve, the reserve lightweight
champion also shown by Josh,
was sold for $l2O to Ephrata Na
tional Bank.
