CATTLE: Compared to Thursday,
slaughter steers steady to .50 higher.
Trading was active and quality was
much more improved than Monday’s
sale. Holstein steers sold firm. Slaughter
heifers not well tested. Demand for
slaughter cows was moderate and prices
traded steady to weak. Slaughter bulls
sold steady. Supply included 29 percent
slaughter steers and 42 percent slaughter
cows.

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday, an
outstanding run of slaughter steers and
heifers sold fully steady. Perhaps the
best demand came late in the sale, but
prices never wavered much through the
entire offering. Holstein steer prices were
steady to .50 lower. Slaughter cows sold
fully .50 higher, but slaughter bulls
traded 1.00 lower. Supply included 44
percent slaughter steers and 35 percent
slaughter cows.
