Scott Strittmatter’s 122-pound Suffolk crossbred lamb took grand champion honors at the Cambria County Fair Market Lamb Show. The 15-year-old Strittmatter from Ebensburg, who has four sisters and lives on a sizable dairy farm, said the victory is his third consecutive grand champi on. Although the family has a 180-head Holstein dairy herd, young Strittmatter prefers doing something different, and that’s why raising a lamb project in the Wilderness Hollow 4-H Club is fim. His parents are Bernie and Tess Strittmatter and he is a sophomore at Cambria Heights High School. Jamie Johns, 17, Johnstown who was showing lambs for the first time, had the reserve cham pion with a Suffolk/Hampshire. “I was extremely surprised,” said the Ragers Hill 4-H’er. Previous ly she showed only horses and rabbits. She is a senior at the Richland High School. Her parents are Butch and Carol Johns and Teri, 15, is her only sister. The show judge was Dick Ku zemchak, head shepherd at Penn State.
