Tiffany, 14, is the daughter of
Gary and Joan Dean, Strasburg.
Tiffany is in the eighth grade at
Martin Meylin Middle School.
The ewe was purchased at a
sale conducted by Tim and
Sarah Fleener, Robesonia, in
April.
Tiffany noted that she and Al
lison Hughes, who won reserve
champion, are best friends who
help each other out to a point
in the championship.
But how they care for the
lambs up to show time remains a
“secret,” said Tiffany.
Tiffany didn’t believe she was
in the competition at all, think
ing Allison or another competi
tor, Brian Mull, would win.
Tiffany exhibited at the Jack
pot Show in Somerset County,
4-H roundup, and at the Ag
Progress Lamb Skillathon and
Show. She plans to show at the
Keystone International Live
stock Expo (KILE) and Farm
Show.
Reserve shown by Allison
Hughes was the 128-pound light
heavyweight division winner,
“Tigger,” a Suffolk/Hampshire
wether. .
Allison, 14, is the daughter of
Chet and Marie Hughes, Lan
caster. Allison is in the ninth
grade at Lampeter-Strasburg
High School.
Allison named the lamb
Tigger based on the Winnie the
Pooh character. She wrote a
paper for her language arts class
in school, noting the lamb jumps
so much and is hard to control

Chet noted the lamb was ob

Allison plans to compete at
the West Lampeter Community
Farm Show next week and, per
haps, at state Farm Show.
There were 47 exhibitors and
76 lambs at the show in the new
livestock building.
The show helped christen the
