CATTLE: Compared to Thursday;
slaughter steers, heifers, and Holstein
steers all sold steady to firm. Trading
was much more active on Tuesday and
some prices were higher, but most of the
increase was due to the improved quality
of the offering. Demand was good for
slaughter cows and prices were 50-1.00
higher. Slaughter bulls sold fully steady.
Supply included 42 percent slaughter
steers and 45 percent slaughter cows.

CALVES: Compared to last week,
demand was much improved for light
weight veal calves and prices were
mostly steady. Holstein bull calves re
turning to feed sold 5.00-15.00 higher in
active trading. Holstein heifer prices
were 40.00-50.00 lower, yet demand was
better for the lightweight heifers under
80 lbs.
Supply included 664 head in the State
graded sale and only 87 percent of the
supply returned to feed.
VEALERS: Standard and Good 75-

10.00-40.00, mostly 20.00-30.00.
