This Allentown Little Lamb Champion Being Kept For Breeding

ALLENTOWN (Lehigh Co.)
Meredith Ruzowicz knew she
could have a winner in her crop
of ewe lambs, so she saved one
for the market lamb champion
ship at Allentown.
Her decision paid off hand
somely recently when she was
awarded supreme market lamb
at Allentown Fair.
Budd Martin, show judge
from Willard, Ohio who raises
registered Dorset, Hampshire,
and Suffolk crossbreds, said
Meredith’s 4-H heavyweight
champion, at 120 pounds, was
“big in top, big in loin.”
Meredith, 18, daughter of
Leslie Ruzowicz, Newtown
Square, is a Delaware County 4-
H’er. Meredith is enrolled in
Delaware County Community
College, where she is studying
liberal arts.
The Suffolk ewe, according to
Meredith, is homebred and she
plans to use the lamb for breed
ing.
She has exhibited at Sussex,
Kimberton, and Goshen fairs,
and plans to show at Keystone
International Livestock Expo
and Farm Show.

show, champion ram went to the
Southdown yearling ram exhib
ited by Bruce Snyder and Gene
Pletz. Champion ewe went to
Jeffrey Everett, Upper Black
Eddy, with his Oxford yearling
ewe.
