fair, however, most dealers were cau
tious and working to cover most imme
diate needs. Offerings of bone-in breasts
were mostly tight to no more than ade
quate. Supplies of boneless skinless
breasts were usually sufficient. Legs and
leg quarters were clearing well at most
locations, and the balance of items were
at least adequate. Movement through
retail and distributive channels was
moderate. The market tone was fully
steady on breast items, steady on the bal
ance.

birds was generally noted as fairly good
and enough to keep the bulk of 2.5 and 3
pound sizes in good balance to well
cleared. Heavier sizes were at least ade
quate and clearing satisfactorily. Live
supplies were about moderate; weights
were desirable to heavy. Processing
schedules were moderately heavy. Some
operations were planned for Saturday in
preparation for retail promotional activ
ity around Labor Day. Less than trucklot
asking prices were 1 cent higher at 51 to
68 cents. Trade sentiment was fully
steady to firm. Bone-in breasts and
thighs were generally noted as in best
demand.
