Lancaster County Selects Roundup Champions
MANHEIM (Lancaster Co.)
Lisa Pfautz, Lititz, won grand
champion market hog at the
recent Lancaster County 4-H
Roundup.
Kurt Good, representing Hat
field Quality Meats, purchased
the 258-pound champion light
heavyweight for $2 per pound.
Lisa also was reserve cham
pion showman.
Reserve champion was the
265-pound champion heavy
weight hog shown by Joelynn
Donough and purchased by
Leidy’s Inc. for $1.50 per pound.
Champion goat, exhibited by
Amanda Grube, sold to Ken
Lewis of Mid Atlantic Farm
Credit forsl.4o per pound.
According to Chet Hughes,
Lancaster livestock agent, the
sale included 108 hogs, 13 dairy
beef, and four market goats. The
sale grossed $24,507 with 28
buyers.
Amy Becker donated pro
ceeds from her hog, purchased y
Lloyd Hoover and Family,
Leola, for $227 to the Mennonite
Disaster Relief Fund for agricul
tural disasters in honor of Ezra
Good, long-time 4-H supporter
who passed away recently.
Also, Mylin Good, former 4-H
Beef Club leader, purchased a
hog and resold it to benefit the 4-
H Goat Club by John M. Hess
Auction Service.
