First-Year Showman Takes Championship EVERETT NEWSWANGER Editor MANHEIM (Lancaster Co.) - The youngest showman won the top prize at the Lancaster 4-H steer show last Saturday at the Manheim Fair grounds. Ryan Nolt, 8-year-old, son of Gene and Charlene Nolt, New Holland, walked away with the grand championship on his first-place 1176-pound mediumweight. This was Ryan’s first year of showing and kept a family tradition alive. His sisters also have had grand champions. Sarah showed her first heifer to grand champion in 1996 and her first steer was champion in 1997.
