cream flavor.

banquet, the Penn State Cream
ery unveiled “Stuzipan,” a choc
olate ice cream with a distinctive
buttery almond flavor.

Foods and Ingredients” pre
sented by professors from sev
eral state universities. The
festivities continued with a
“Patton Banquet Roast” at the
Nittany Lion Inn.

Health.” Afternoon sessions ad
dressed “Milk and the Mam
mary Gland Regulation.”
Stuart Patton received his
bachelor’s degree in dairy hus
bandry from Penn State in 1943
and went on to earn his master’s
and doctorate from Ohio State

Agricultural Sciences’ first Evan
Pugh Professor in 1966.
He is known internationally
for his research and teaching on
milk chemistry and the biologi
cal processes that regulate milk
synthesis in the mammary
gland. He was awarded the 1999
Outstanding Alumni award
from Penn State’s College of Ag
ricultural Sciences. In recent
years, Patton has been adjunct
professor in both the depart
ment of neurosciences at the
University of Califomia-San
Diego and in the foods and nu
trition program at San Diego
State University.
