    Winners Chosen At Maryland Brown Swiss Show

FREDERICK, Md. The
Maryland Brown Swiss Field
Day was recently held at the
Frederick Fairgrounds, Freder
ick Maryland. Exhibitors from
Maryland and Virginia brought
80 high quality Brown Swiss for
the one-day highly-regarded
event. Dan Carroll, Oldwick,
New Jersey judged the event.

takes your eye, you really like
the way she moves on good feet
and legs, and has a lovely bloom
of udder today,” commented
Carroll.
This is the first time that
Justin Culler has shown a state
grand champion, and he also
merited the Maryland and over
all best bred and owned animal
with this daughter of Tuolomme
Patrick.
The reserve grand champion
honors went to Dylan Fry,
Chestertown, Md. with his big
and correct senior two-year-old,
“Fair Hill Jetway Pez.”
She also displayed the lovely
udder and dairyness the judge
was looking for two excep
tional young cows with a bright
future in the show ring.
Judge Carroll also named an
honorable mention of the open
and junior show which went to
Allen Smith, Woodsboro, Md.
with his junior three-year-old,
“Lake Lane Aimees Jolly,” an
impressive young cow. All three
young men are junior members
of the Maryland Junior Brown
Swiss Association.

calf sired by “Prelude,” “Lake
Lane Aimees Gallic.”
Reserve junior champion of
the junior show was won by Su
zanne Perdue with a sharp
winter calf, “Heiz Acres Emory
Chance,” which was bought at
the April Mid-Atlantic Brown
Swiss Calf Sale.
The reserve junior champion
of the open show was “Round
Hill Starbuck Dandy,” a big and
correct, well-balanced Septem
ber calf exhibited by Bill and
Cindy Warner, Frederick, Md.

2000-2001 Maryland Swiss Miss,
and Mary Archer of Pylesville,
Md. was crowned the Maryland
Swiss Princess.
The grand champion bull,
“Old Mill Chime Proof,” by
Allen and Tammy Bassler. The
reserve champion bull was “El-
Lil Tank,” exhibited by Andrea
Hood.
