William and Lori Arnold
80 head of milk cows and 45 replacements roam on this 137-acre
farm owned by William and Lori Arnold of Somerset. Called Dormel
Farms, the property has been in the family since 1963 when William’s
father purchased the farm. William and Lori took over ownership in
1986. Six years ago William converted his operation to a seasonal graz
ing herd. In addition to the 137 acres, the Arnolds rent 270 acres,
which are in hay. The Arnolds are proud of their dairy herd, which often
obtains the highest quality premiums for low somatic cell counts from
their cooperative.
