Ed & Nancy Quigley
Named after the European word for alfalfa,L.uzerne Farm is owned
by Ed and Nancy Quigley of Spruce Creek. Since Ed has always enjoyed
growing alfalfa, he decided to name his farm after his passion. The
Quigleys milk 390 cows and raise 275 heifers on the 600-acre farm. In
1996, they expanded from 120 to their current herd size and now boast
a herd average of 25,800 pounds of milk. Nancy works off the farm as a
school teacher, and they have one grown son who works as a profes
sional firefighter.
