H. Paul and Joyce Hail from Wyalusing are the first goat farmers to
earn the Dairy of Distinction title in Pennsylvania. Milking 30 goats and
raising 40 kid goats on their 45-acre farm, the Hails are glad they can
raise their four children, Zachary, Kaitlin, Kara, and Jacob, on the
farm. The Hails have a raw milk license and currently sell their milk to
neighbors who come to the farm. However, they have purchased all of
the equipment to pasteurize their milk and hope to be able to sell pas
teurized milk to urban nearby grocery stores. They also make goat
cheese and fudge. The Hails purchased the farm five years ago after
moving from Bucks County to get out of suburbia.
