Lawrence County Crowns Dairy Princess NEW GALILEE (Lawrence Co.) Desarai Oshop was crowned Lawrence County dairy princess recently by outgoing Amy Liggett during a pageant held at Westfield Grange. Desarai is the daughter of Dennis and Connie Oshop of New Galilee. She will be a junior at Mohawk Area Junior Senior High School. Her activities and interests include track, ski and art club, cross country, Youth Alive, SADD, county council, dairy. horse, public speaking 4-H clubs, horse riding, painting and playing clarinet. Serving as alternate dairy princesses for the next year will be Joy McConnell and Rebecca Workman. Joy is the daughter of John and Lois McConnell of Vol ant. Joy will be a senior at Wil The entire family participates in the making of homemade lemonade at the Pennsyl vania Dutch Festival at Reading Terminal Market on Aug. 10-12, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The festival features authentic Pennsylvania Dutch handmade quilts, brooms, woodcrafts, cakes, pies, donuts, ice cream, preserves, and more. Her interest are cross country, track, marching band, horse rid ing, 4-H, FFA, and milking cows. Dairy ambassador is Lane Whiting of Edinburg. Her par ents are Dave and Denise Edi nburg. She is a sophomore at Wilmington High School. She is active in FFA, basketball, tennis, ecology team, softball, and church youth group. Rounding up the dairy promoting team as dairy maids are Holly Liggett and Adrienne Davis. Adrienne is from Wampum and the daughter of Charles and JoAnn Davis. She attends Mo hawk Area Junior Senior High School and is a member of St. Elias Church, FFA, ski club, writers guild, student council, track and volleyball. Holly is from Bessemer and the daughter of Dave and Debbie Liggett. She also attends Mo hawk Area Junior Senior High School and is active in southwest dairy club, judging team, youth group, ski club, varsity cheerleader, French club, and track.
