Warren PITTSFIELD (Warren Co.) The 30th annual Warren County Dairy Princess Pageant was held recently at the 4-H building on the grounds at the Warren Coun ty Fair. Following the competition which involved personal inter views with the judges, presenta tion of a speech, and the answer ing of an impromptu question. Tiffany Gilkinson. daughter of Rich and Vicki Ciilkinson of Lander was selected 2000-2001 Warren County Dairy Princess. Sarah Lindcll, daughter of Trudy Lindell and the late Denny 1 in dell was selected as the Alternate Warren County Dairy Princess. Ms, Gilkinson profiled her fa ther as “My Most Important Per son" during her speech. She complimented her father for his dairy expertise and for being a positive role model. Ms. Lindell titled her speech “Why Dairy Farmers Do What They Do,” and asked where would we be without them? This being the 30th anniver sary of the local pageant, Jan Harding, executive director of the Pennsylvania Dairy Princess and Promotions Services was an honored guest. Ms. Harding complimented the local commit tee for its faithful promotion of Schuylkill Dairy Princess PITMAN (Schuylkill Co.) Recently, the Schuylkill County Dairy Promotion Committee crowned Samantha Snyder the Dairy Princess for 2000. Recognized as Past Warren County Dairy Princesses in at tendance were Edith Miller Leh man, Christina Blystone Wol bert, and Marcy Hunter. Ruth Barnes Shaw, professor of art history at Jamestown Community College of Clean, was the mistress of ceremonies. Ms. Shaw introduced the panel of judges: Marianne Kent of Sherman, co-chair of the Chau tauqua County Dairy Princess Committee, Gerald Bensink of Columbus, a retired county exec utive director of the A.S.C.S.- U.S.D.A., and Sam Huffman of Randolph, N.Y. dairy nutrition expert for Enterprise Sales of Agway. Retiring Dairy Maid Kelsi Wilcox was escorted by her fa ther Craig Wilcox of Lander. She was presented with a plaque for two years of faithful service in that position. Ms. Wilcox told the audience that the dairy check-off program is working. She report ed a 29 percent increase in con sumption of fluid milk.
