Air griev ances promptly and in a thoughtful way. Negotiate dif ferences so there is something positive in the outcome for both generations. • Don't fear occasional flare-ups. They are part of life and may clear the air. Don't let the situation fester. • Treat each other as a good friend. This includes courtesy and respect for individual tastes and opinions. • Use humor to brighten your life and relieve tension, h always helps to he able to laugh at yourself. • Avoid prying about girl friends, boyfriends, or other personal business. Sharing in formation about such matters should he voluntary. • Make requests of parents, sons, and daughters not de mands. Demands threaten good feelings about yourself and others. • Communicate calmly about work you think needs to he done. Try not to he a nag.
