ers, and there has not been significant
trading of cash cattle since late last
month. This week there was minimal
trading steady to 1.00 lower from 66.00-
67.50 live and 106.00-107.00 dressed.
Local Holstein steers ended the week .50
lower. The slaughter cow market finally
weakened, after trading at a very high
level for weeks. Prices closed 1.00-2.00
lower. Slaughter bulls also backed up
and finished steady to 1.00 lower.
Supply included 47 pet slaughter steers,
5 pet slaughter heifers, 35 pet slaughter
cows, 4 pet slaughter bulls, with the bal
ance mostly feeders.
SLAUGHTER STEERS: High Choice
and Prime 2-4 1095-1475 lbs 70.25-73.25,
few fancy up to 75.00. Choice 2-3 1095-
1480 lbs 68.75-71.00, high dressing 1-2

CALVES; Compared to last week, the
veal calf market closed fully steady and
larger slaughter calves ended steady to
firm. Demand was much lighter for Hol
stein bulls returning to feed this week,
especially for the plainer quality bulls.
Prices closed weak to 15.00 lower. Hol
stein heifer trading was very slow and
ended the week 50.00-70.00 lower.
