Actually, in recent years,
Pennsylvania has been support
ing their farmers very well.
When you consider the Pennsyl
vania Milk Marketing Board has
established premiums on fluid
milk that stays in Pennsylvania
for many years, and the Penn
sylvania legislators did give
their approval to the North East
Dairy Compact, and now disas
ter funds have been made avail
able to farmers.
It’s time for our legislators in
Washington (including those
from Pa.) to wake up and follow

❖ Farm Forum ❖
Inued from A10)
what Pennsylvania is doing tor
their agriculture producers.
If agriculture producers were
receiving a fair price for their
products, than these producers
could handle adverse weather
conditions.
Its high time for the people in
Washington to wake up and rec
ognize the importance of our
producers receiving a fair price.
The producers will not receive
a fair price as long as our bu
reaucrats continue to take us
down the path of free trade in
stead of fair trade.
Its time producers receive a
price based on production cost
at the farm instead of what a
manipulated market will yield.
Again, a real thanks to Gover
nor Ridge, Secretary Hayes, and
the Pennsylvania legislators.
