It was a day of awards and cele bration as Tioga County ob served its 10th annual Farm City Day July 8 at Sunset Moun tains Farm located in the rolling hills not far from the Pennsylva nia Grand Canyon. It was an anniversary of an other sort for the Lawton family, who hosted the event. A joint venture of educa tional activities, tours, work shops, and exhibitions was conducted this week at the Ship pensburg High School. The Pennsylvania Association of Agricultural Educators (PAAE) and the Pennsylvania Young Farmers Association (PYFA) came together for their summer institute and confer ence and the event really worked well, according to plan ning committee officials. A special group of hands-on educational tours were taken to dairy, veal, and horse farms. In addition, orchards, woodlands, and agribusinesses were visited.
