Majority prices were unchanged on
salt yolk, balance of items were generally
unchanged to slightly lower when com
pared to a week earlier. Short term inter
est was inactive, although some
additional inquiry was developing in
spot locations. Supplies were irregular,
but mostly adequate for immediate trade
needs. Undertone was mixed and unset
tled. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients
included) processed under federal in
spection in the Eastern region for the
week ending June 24,2000 were 4 % less
than last week, and 10 % less than a year
ago. USDA-AMS purchased 1,024,000
lbs. of pasteurized whole eggs to be deliv
ered Aug. 1 to Aug. IS.

quiet following the fair holiday business.
Offerings were generally adequate to
ample with wings and tenders receiving
the best interest. Breast items were usu
ally more than adequate and most deal
ers found it unnecessary to purchase
product. Retail and distributive move
ment was slow to no better than moder
ate. The market tone remained steady at
best.

Prices were unchanged. The market
tone was barely steady. Demand was
mostly light to moderate, best into fea
ture activity. Supplies ranged adequate
to ample on all sizes. The New York
State shell egg inventory was X 2 percent
less and the New Jersey inventory was
17 percent less than last Monday.
