Roll of Victory (ROY) Angus

Craig Wallace, Mount
Vernon, Mo., evaluated the 280
entries. Exhibitors paraded 204
females, 61 bulls, and 15 cow
calf pairs before the champions
were crowned.

Roger Swain, host of TV’s
“The Victory Garden,” will be
the featured speaker at the Oct.
21 Rites of Fall gardening semi
nar sponsored by the Adams
County Master Gardeners.
Swain, now in his 13th year as
host of the popular show, will
discuss fall gardening tips that
will help ensure a better garden
next spring.
In addition to doing his TV
show, Swain is a prolific and
widely read writer. His books
which he will be available to sign
include “Earthly Pleasures:
Tales from a Biologists
Garden,” “Field Days: Journal
of an Itinerant Biologist,” “The
Practical Gardener,” and, most
recently, “Groundwork: a Gar
dener’s Ecology.”

lypons Water Gardens is also on
the program. He will discuss
“The Fall Water Garden” and
answer questions about this rap

“Good Morning America,” and
the “Fox Morning Show,” is an
adviser for Ortho’s “Garden
Ponds and Fountains” and Tay
lor’s “Weekend Garden Guide.”
He has lectured extensively
before the American Association
of Nurserymen and other pro
fessional organizations.
In addition to the keynote
speakers, experts will conduct
several educational workshops.
Educational hour credits are
available for Master Gardeners.

nar will be at the new Adams
County Agricultural and Natu
ral Resources Center in Gettys
burg. Seating is limited and
participation in this third
annual event is by advance reg
istration only.
