Grain Market
Summary
St. Joseph, MO
Wed June 28,2000
Report Supplied By USDA
USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News
Daily National Grain Market Sum
mary
Grain and soybean bids were mostly
lower after higher trends yesterday.
Wheat harvest resumed in some areas,
weighing on bids. Light export wheat
purchase by CCC overnight was re
ported. Corn bids fell sharply lower on
light profit taking and weather forecasts
calling for more rains and milder tem
peratures after the 4th. Soybean bids
were mixed, but mostly lower. Crops
continue to benefit from scattered rain
fall in the Midwest regions and are look
ing good most places. Soybean meal
prices declined due to smaller than ex
pected soy oil stocks and strong domes
tic consumption. Lack of fresh export
sales this week has added pressure to
corn and bean bids. Wheat steady to 4
cents lower. Corn 2 to 8 cents lower. Sor
ghum 7 cents lower. Soybeans mixed,
mostly 8 to 10 cents lower except Kansas
City 3 cents higher.
