for the adequate offerings. However,
availability of thighs and thigh meat
were generally reported as ample. Breast
items increased in availability, other
items ranged from balanced to fully ade
quate. Demand was light and unaggres
sive. Retail and distributive movement
was seasonal but mostly slow to moder
ate. The market tone was mixed and

In Chicago, prices were tower on the
larger sizes, unchanged on the balance.
In the Eastern region, prices were un
changed to lower on all sizes. Elsewhere,
prices were unchanged. The market tone
was mostly steady to barely steady.
Demand was generally light to moder
ate, and was best where scattered feature
activity was a factor.
Supplies were at least adequate to
available, instances ample on the smaller
sizes. Breaking stock offerings were gen
erally adequate, and demand for addi
tional product was mostly light to nc
better than moderate.
Light type fowl were fully adequah
for normal schedules.

Soybeans 4 to 8 cents lower. Rain de
layed wheat harvest. Early cuttings,
yields and test weights were not quite up
to expectations. Winter wheat is ma
tured up into the Southern edge of the
cornbelts but fields are soggy. Also fairly
good Export announcements for wheat
this week. More rains forecast for the
weekend. The moisture is beneficial for
corn, soybeans and milo and prices
turned back lower. No export announce
ments this week for corn or soybeans.
