The July 10-15 Mason-Dixon
Fair, sponsored by the Delta-
Cardiff Fire Company, is gear
ing up for its second year as a
rural agricultural expo for
southern Pennsylvania and
northern Maryland. Promising
to be a popular addition to the 2-
year-old ag fair are classes for
antique tractor pulling and ex-

Mason-Dixon Fair Invites Antique Tractor Pullers

competitions and displays must
be registered by a July 1 post
mark to be eligible.
Tractor pulls for pre-1961
vintage models will be held on
Thursday and Friday, July 13
and 14, beginning at 6 p.m. The
Thursday evening competition
will feature the 2,500-6,500-
pound weight classes, and con
tinue on Friday with 7,500-
12,500-pound classes. A $lO
hook-up fee will be charged and
plaques awarded to class
winners.
Antique equipment exhibits
will be on display through the
fair’s duration. No entry fees are
required and the displays may
include any equipment of pre
-1961 vintage models.

spanning the range of farm im
plements, including tractors,
plows, cultivators, haying equip
ment, and gas and steam en
gines. Ribbons will be awarded
to the most completely restored,
most complete operating, and
best appearing displays.

In addition to their educational
offerings, Quiet Creek operates
a small, 15-member CSA. Their
30-acre farm boasts a classroom,
gift shop, and display gardens
with more than 100 varieties of
herbs, vegetables, and flowers.
On July 8, participants will
tour the herb and vegetable gar
dens. Rusty and Claire will ex
plain effective ways to share
organic gardening techniques
with all types of small groups.
