breast and thigh meat were weak. Wings
improved and were at least fully steady.
Overall, tmcklot buying activity was
slow. Offerings of breast items and thigh
meat were readily available with limited
interest reported. Wings were usually in
close balance to well cleared. All other
items were generally sufficient for cur
rent needs. Movement into retail and
distributive channels was slow, but fairly
good into fast food locations.

Supplies were in good balance to close,
with the larger sizes held with confi
dence.

typical of normid mid-week activity, but
below expectations for the first of the
month. Offerings were fully adequate
and were more readily available on the
larger sizes. Live supplies were at least
moderate; weights varied and were
mostly desirable to heavy. Processing
schedules were moderately heavy. Less
than trucklot asking prices were un
changed at 56 to 68 cents. Trade senti
ment was about steady. Breast cuts were
competitively priced to stimulate buying

larger sizes. Elsewhere prices were usu
ally unchanged. The market tone was
fully steady to firm. Demand ranged fair
to good with best movement noted where
features were in progress. Supplies of
larger sizes were close balanced and gen
erally being held with confidence.
Smaller sizes were increasing but still in
fairly good balance. Breaking stock
offerings were about adequate for the
improved but mostly moderate demand.
Light type fowl were ample for slaughter
schedules.
It takes a quality product to do quality work.
