Demand was limited and unaggressive as some traders were on holiday schedules. However, some im proved interest was noted on yolks at the lower price levels. Offerings were usually reported as adequate for current needs. The undertone was mixed and unsettled. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients in cluded) processed under federal inspec tion in the Eastern region for the week ending April 22, 2000 were 14 % less than l?st week, and 33% less than a year ago. Processing schedules were moderately heavy. Less than trucklot asking prices were un changed at 56 to 68 cents. Trade senti ment was steady. In the parts complex, all items were at least adequate to ample. Boneless, skinless breasts appeared to be in the weakest position. Leg quarters were receiving increased interest. Elsewhere, prices were unchanged. The market tone ranged steady at best to weak, and the larger sizes were usually in the weakest position. Retail demand continued light to fair, no better than moderate; and was generally best for the occasional feature. Supplies of the larger sizes remained available to ample, and the medium and lighter weights were generally adequate. Breaking stock offerings were adequate to fully ade quate, and demand for additional prod uct was generally light to occasionally moderate. Light type fowl were mostly ample for current processing schedules which ranged from normal to heavy.
