For the past year, I have
reigned as the Pa. Cattlemen’s
Association Cattlemen’s Queen
and I would like to thank them
for the great opportunity.
Throughout the year I was for
tunate enough to meet many
new people and have a tour of
the beautiful state we live in.
Some of my fondest memories
are just getting to the fairs and
meeting all the nice people that
are involved in the beef industry
and those that would like to get
involved.
I attended Wyoming Coun
ty’s first beef show with eight
great future showman. I was ex
tremely happy to assist them in

learning how to show their ani

' also traveled to the Lycoming
County Fair, York Fair, South
Mountain Fair, as well as the
Adams County and Cambria
County Farm City Days.
I recently attended the Penn
sylvania Farm Show in Harris
mrg. Here, I was able to talk to
.he people and the spectators
who had an interest in or were
urious about the beef industry.
i also distributed ribbons during
he shows and attended the gov
ernor's ball. At the ball I had the
pportunity to meet and talk to
Governor Tom Ridge and Secre
tary of Agriculture Samuel
Hayes.
I have many other memories
that I will never forget-espe
cially the looks on the faces as
people learned about the many
uses of beef products that you
would never dream possible. I
would like to thank all of the
people who helped me in
anyway or just answered ques
tions for me. This year has been
such a great learning experience
that has helped me to grow more
aware of how much work farm
ers and others put into keeping
the industry going. I have met so
many new people who have con
tributed to making a difference
in my life and hopefully I was
able to give something back in
return.

Nicole and her family work together in the field and in 4-H. Parents Bob and Deb are
leaders of Lancaster County’s Red Rose 4-H Beef Club. Her brother John, 18, has won
numerous 4-H and FFA awards connected with livestock. And, her younger brother
Chris, 13, plans to continue the family tradition.
