Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was fairly good and was sufficient to keep
the bulk of seller offerings cleared satisfac
torily. Live supplies were mostly mod
erate; weights were mixed in a full range of
light to heavy. Processing schedules con
tinued to reflect some plants curtailing
operations and were moderate in total. Less
than trucklot asking prices were 1 cent
higher at 52 to 64 cents. Trade sentiment
was firm. Bone-in breasts and thighs were
adequate to welt cleared. Other items were
at least adequate with boneless skinless
breasts in the belter balance. ACTUAL

Majority prices were unchanged on salt
yolk and whites, balance cf items were
unchanged to slighdy higher when com
pared to last week's values. Demand was
often light and unaggressive for fully
adequate offerings of yolks, interest on
other items was usually moderate. The
undertone was steady on whites and whole,
and cautious on yolks. Liquid and frozen
eggs (ingredients included) processed
under federal inspection in the Eastern reg
ion for the week ending Match 25, 2000
were 6 % less than last week, and 9 % less
than a year ago. Shell egg suppliers were
adequate for needs.
