The Executive Board of the
Berks County Society of Farm
Women met March 6, at the
Berks County Agriculture
Center with 20 members attend
ing.
County president Betsy Satta

concerns regarding the State
Convention. The County Board
agreed that the format, parking,
and meal were very good.
Berks County received certifi
cates for 100 percent participa
tion in the Safety Program, The
Habitat for Humanity Program,
and for new memberships.
The State Farm Women had a
booth this year at the Farm
Show, Harrisburg. Becky Swal

show preview of the plants being
offered in this year’s UDBG
plant sale.
The free preview will be held
Wednesday, March 30, from 7 to
9 p.m. in Newark at the Girl
Scout building at 501 South Col
lege Avenue (adjacent to the
bridge over the railroad tracks).
The actual sale will take place
during Ag Day on Saturday,
April 29, on South Campus.

12 inches in length,” says Frett.
“The plants almost glow in the
autumn landscape as the oak
like leaves turn spectacular
colors from orange to red to bur
gundy.”
The UDBG’s extensive plant
sale list also offers hard-to-find
perennials and native plants, in
cluding a variety of ferns, hol
lies, hostas and trees.
Horticulture experts will be on
hand to answer questions, and
refreshments will be served.
