Compared to last week: Feeder steers
and heifers steady to 1.00 higher with good
demand early hut tailing off to moderate
late. Stocker cattle and calves steady to
2.00 higher with very good demand. Calf
and light cattle supply in medium to mostly
thin condition. Feeder cattle off wheat con
tinue in medium to fleshy condition.
Weigh condition again highly varied from
gaum to full. Quality of supply average.
Moisture conditions improving throughout
the state. Central and eastern areas espe
cially good and primed for good spring
pastures. Wheat pastures excellent from
Selling east. Slaughter cows steady.
Slaughter bolls 1.00 higher. Demand good
for bulls; moderate for cows. Total of 300
cows and bulls sold with 40 percent to
packets. Receipts this week 12,450; last
week 11,971; last year 13,191. Supply con
sisted at 78 percent yearlings over 600 lbs;
20 percent calves under 600 lbs; cows and
bulls 2 percent. Heifers 34 percent of feed
er and calf supply. Prices follow with
weighted average weight and price in
parenthesis.
