USDA-OK Dept Ag Market News
Oklahoma National Stockyards - Week
ly Cattle Summaiy
Compand to last week: Feeder cattle
and calves steady. The good demand for
feeders caught many participants by sur
prise. After Friday's bearish cattle on feed
report, showing continued heavy place
ments and large numbers in feedlots. many
thought the feeder market would be sharp
ly lower. Buyers obviously thinking less
cattle will be available since more are
already in feedlots. Demand remains very
good for light supply of Stockers and
calves. Feeders on wheal have gained
extremely well daring this mild winter and
in much fleshier condition than last year.
Feeder cattle are pulled ahead a ftill 2
weeks. Half to 1 inch of nrin received in
much of the state Tuesday. Another possi
ble shot of moisture anticipated for Friday.
This will be helpful to wheat and spring
pastures. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00
higher. Slaughter bulls steady. Packer
