Agritourism
Meeting Scheduled
ELLICOTT CITY, Md.-If you
want to add to your farm income,
agntounsm may be your answer
Pick-your-own fruit, a corn maze,
fee fishing, or a bed and break
fast can help you sell the farm
experience without selling the
farm itself. Come to the day-long
“Agritourism: A Farm Alterna
tive” meeting on March 4 in
West Friendship, Md. to learn
strategies for success.
The meeting will be held at
Nixon’s Farm, a Howard County
landmark known for its change
from production agriculture to
agritourism. Learn the “how
to’s” of agritourism from suc
cessful farmers, who will also
share potential pitfalls and help
ful hints. Local experts will help
you choose, design, and initiate
the agritourism option that is
right for your family farm.
Conference registration is $l5
per person and includes a conti
nental breakfast and lunch. Pre
registration by February 25 is
required. Contact Carolyn Kulp
at the Howard County Exten
sion office at 410-313-2707 for
registration materials
