a free demonstration of the
newly developed herd software
package, Bam Owl 2000, before
and after the PA Holstein
Convention. All interested par
ties are invited to attend this
demonstration on Thursday,
February 17 from 9:30 am until
12:00 pm or Saturday, February
19, from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm.
Stover Farms consists of 450
acres of owned and 600 acres of
rented ground, which includes
com, alfalfa, soybeans, wheat,
and timothy. This herd of 170
registered Holsteins average
23,026 lbs. of milk, 731 lbs. of
protein, and 810 lbs. of fat. This
family-oriented farm is struc
tured and operated mainly by
family members Ron Stover,
John and Julia Stover, Mark
Matula, and Jim and Ann
Kulick. Currently, Jim and Ann’s
daughter, Army, is serving as
Dairy Ambassador for the Cum
berland County dairy industry.

PDPP Elects Officers for 2000
HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.)-The Pennsylvania Dairy
Promotion Program (PDPP) Board
of Directors welcomed the new
year with the election of the
2000 officers. The board re-elect
ed Richard Waybright of Gettys
burg as chairman; Rita Kennedy
of Valencia as vice chairman;
and Raymond Diebold of Altoona
as treasurer. Bertha Ackerson of
Marion Center joined the list as
the newly-elected secretary.
“I am honored to again serve
as chairman for this progressive
dairy promotion program,” Way
bright says. “I urge all dairy
farmers in western Pennsylvania to
use our board members as a
voice for your ideas, concerns
and comments in the coming
year.”
The 2000 executive commit
tee consists of the four officers,
plus Karl Kroek of Knoxville;
Robert Gehman of Coopersburg;
John Ligo of Grove City; and
Harold Shaulis of Somerset. The
budget and finance committee,
headed by Treasurer Diebold,
also includes Waybright, Acker
son, Kennedy, Gehman, Ligo,
Norma Baughman of Townville;
Louis Hawley of Montrose, Lolly
Lesher of Bernville and Nelson
Habecker of Lancaster.

American Dairy Association &
Dairy Council Mid East to
implement advertising, market
ing, promotion and nutrition
education programs on behalf of
the dairy farmers in 33 counties
in western and north-central
Pennsylvania.
