Daily National Otain Market Summary
Wheat bids finished on both sides of
steady with favorable weather a pressure
factor while some overnight export sales
offering light strength. Com and soybean
bids were slightly lower on slow foreign
demand and some profit taking on the
Boatd due to strong World competition.
Wheat 1 cent higher to 1 cent lower. Com 1
cent lower. Sorghum 2 to 3 cents lower.
Soybeaim steady to 4 cents lower. Recent
wet weather in winter wheat growing areas
has the crop looking pretty good. However,
some forecasts have predicted a return of
dry con- ditions over the next week. Over
night sales of wheat to South Korea was a
phis for bids although tonnage was light.
Reports of new CCC donation tenders
offered light support. Com bids were
slightly weaker at the close today. Ideas
that recent rainfall will Increase Argen
tine’s crop this year, weighed on bids. An
increase in com import estimates for Brazil
this year, due to drought conditions was
supportive to tads. Losses in Brazilian com

crap is reported to be the first com crap
loss there with much of the damage in Kio
Grande De Sul. An overnight export sale to
Taiwan was nnounced but sales have been
light this week. Continued Chinese com
petition has kept a thumb on com bids. Far
mer selling slowed. Soybeans lost ground
again today, pressured by more rain fore
cast in Brazil over the next few days. Very
slow export interest added weakness to
beans.
