Muscle uses more calories than fat tis sue, but takes up less space. Also, your leaner body uses extra energy both while you are exercising and for 24 hours afterwards. As you gain muscle and lose fat you may begin wearing a smaller size, eat more and stay at the same weight or eat the same amount and lose weight. Fitness has other health bene fits, too. It’s harder to back out when you know someone is depending on you. This will also keep you motivated. If you miss a day or two don’t punish yourself. Get back to your routine as quickly as possible.
