Dairy Shrine, the “Hall of Fame”
of the dairy industry, has app
roved scholarships and awards
totalling over $30,000 for 2000.
This is twice the amount distrib
uted in 1999, according to Dr.
Thomas Aitchison, President of
the organization. The organiza
tion increased the funding to
recognize and reward outstand
ing young people in the dairy
industry.
These include:
•NDS/DMI Milk Marketing
Scholarships-five to seven schol
arships awarded annually (One
at $1,000; balance $5OO scholar
ships) for college students inter
ested in careers in milk market
ing.
•McCullough Scholarships-two
scholarships ($2,500 and $1,000)
for high school seniors planning
to enter a four-year college or

•Progressive Dairy Producer
Award-three $2,000 educational
travel awards targeting out
standing young dairy producers
21-45 years of age.
Deadline for applications for
