Thirty Master Gardeners donated 400 hours to plant, maintain, and evaluate plants in the trial. “As a result, the program increased York countian’s exposure to the identity, cul ture, and use of desirable ‘new’ plant varieties used throughout the green indus try.” While the “Misty Lilac Wave Petunia” topped the recommended list of plants in the 1999 York County trial because of its outstanding color and habit, the Celosia Argentata with bright scarlet plumes with bronze leaves, and Coreopisis Rosea, a fast 1 growing, spreading perennial for naturalizing-both previ ously mentioned-were alsc on the recommended list.
