Trocldot buying activity was sluggish as
most tndeis straggled to generate busi
ness. Offerings of all items were at least
adequate and discounting was prevalent.
Movement into retail and distributive
channels continued slow and out-front
optimism was minimal. The market tone
was barely steady to weak on breast items
and no better than steady on the balance.

USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News
Daily Natioml Grain Market Summary
Wheat bids were mostly tower, today.
on improved crop conditions due to needed
moisture in hard red winter wheat areas
and soft red winter wheat crops. Com and
soybean bids finished higher as traders
await USDA's next stocks report and
weather conditions in South America.
Wheat mixed, mostly steady to 11 cents
lower. Com 1 to 4 cents higher. Sorghum 4
cents higher. Soybeans 5 to 9 cents higher.
Snow and rainfall was reported over the
past couple of days in hard and soft red
winter wheat growing areas. Crop ratings
in some states are repotted improved as
beneficial snow cover fell. Export sales
have been slow this week and Pakistan is
reported to have bought another 18 million
bushels of Australian white wheat for Jan/
Feb shipment. Com bids were slightly
higher due to traders ideas that next week's
stocks figures might be lower than last
month's estimate. Export sales have been
strong for com lately and South Korea is
expected to tender for another 4 million
bushels this week. Sharp advances were
seen in soybean pits after reports about
crop losses from drought in parts of South
America were reported. Traders assume
that yield lasses will also be found in Mato
Grosso do Sul and other places. Rains are
forecast for southern Brazil sometime this
week, limiting gains.
