Compared to last week: Feeder cattle
and calves aeady. Demand good for light
holiday week receipts. Calves a better val
ue to tayets than past several week's as
many in thin to medium condition. Slaugh
er cows steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter
bulls 2.00 higher. Demand very good for
less numbers. Total of 350 cows and bulls
sold with 36 percent going to packets.
Receipts this week 4,500; last week
10,402; last year 1,533. Supply consisted
of 42 percent yearlings and calves over 600
lbs; 50 percent calves under 600 lbs; 8 per
cent cows and bulls. Heifers comprised 47
percent of feeder and calf supply. Prices
follow with weighted average weight and
price in parenthesis.
